What are B12 Injections?

B12 is a vitamin, also known as Cyanocobalamin.  Deficiency of this vitamin can lead to decreased energy levels and slower metabolic function.  B12 injections are designed to help jumpstart the body’s metabolic process and can safely help improve energy.  Recommended treatment every 4-8 weeks.  It is also strongly encouraged that client’s receiving B12 injections have a B12 level checked by blood work with his/her primary care physician a minimum of every 12 months.

What is the Process Like to get a B12 Injection?

The injection is given intramuscularly in the gluteal muscle (upper outer part of the buttocks) or in the deltoid muscle (upper outer muscle of the arm).  The injection itself involves very little discomfort and is completed in less than a minute!

The frequency with which B12 injections are done depend on the desired benefit from the treatment.  The general recommendation is to receive an injection every 4-6 weeks.

*All clients receiving B12 injections are encouraged to have a serum (blood) B12 level checked at least every 6 months to ensure that his/her B12 remains in a healthy range.
